Well, if you’re going to be certified as a master, you have to prove it! In any industry, a master portrays the highest standards and expertise in it. You will be the industry’s elite. You will personify what the wanna be’s can only dream of, but may not have the gumption to achieve! You will be an example (with the responsibilities thereof) of what the pond industry can be at its best. And you will be secure in the fact that it ‘ain’t bragging if you can do it!

You will have shown an adequate knowledge in basic and advanced construction techniques, fish health (including microscopic ability to identify, and then treat, parasites), equipment knowledge on a broad spectrum of manufacturers and types, and the proper installation and use of it.

Also included in the testing materials will be questions about basic and advanced bacterial knowledge, both beneficial and harmful, in its relationship to water features/ponds, and how to deal with each properly. You will also have to show a master’s knowledge of aquatic plants and algae’s, and how they should and should not be used in relation to a pond/water feature, and/or how to be dealt with.

In order to qualify as a CMPC, you will first have to be a CPPC in good standing. Then you will need to pass several fairly extensive tests of expertise and knowledge.

In addition to this, you will have to supply photos and detailed descriptions of the equipment, installation and servicing of no less than 5 (five) ponds, that fellow Masters will judge to be worthy of a Master’s work.

These don’t have to be in addition to what you have already submitted to become a CPPC. They DO need to be “World Class” features. Once you become a Master, you will be offered the chance to sit on the assessment board for any new applicants.

It’s totally voluntary, but would appear to be a Master’s duty, although not an obligation. You will also be considered a candidate for a seat on the IPPCA’s board of advisors. Again, voluntary.

Annual renewal as an IPPCA CMPC will automatically give you the benefit of IPPCA membership and continued standing as an IPPCA CPPC as well.

Due to the extensive research done in the pursuit of approval of a new application, a one time fee of $1500.00 will need to accompany your application. You will be at this point a "Lifetime Member" and there will be no annual dues.
