Ponditat for Humanity 2011 Project to Benefit Disabled Persons Program
Water Garden News
International Professional Pond Companies Association contractors and other volunteers will build a $10,000 water feature for PossAbilities in Loma Linda, Calif., on Nov. 2-4, as the IPPCA’s Ponditat for Humanity 2011 project.
Located on the Loma Linda University East Campus, PossAbilities is an outreach program designed to provide disabled individuals with a sense of community and help integrate them into mainstream life. The water feature will include the soothing sound of running water “to create a natural environment conducive to healing and well-being,” according to the IPPCA, noting that incorporating a healing environment into its rehabilitation program was a high priority for PossAbilities.
Recently added board of advisors member Eric Triplett arranged the project.
The IPPCA began the Ponditat for Humanity program in 2006 with the goal of providing hands-on training for association members and others while providing the benefits of professional water features to worthy causes or individuals.
The IPPCA posted registration information for the event and its 7th annual Info Tanza educational conference, to be held Nov. 5-7 in conjunction with the Irrigation Show in San Diego (Nov. 5-8), on its website.
San Diego is about 90 minutes south of Loma Linda.Source
